RANDOM TV - A camera never at rest. An eye that never blinks.
Since the beginning of commercial television the promise has always been this: to bring the world into your living room. News programs, nature shows, dramas and sitcoms all had the same goal: to show the audience what they were unlikely to experience themselves. At the start of the 21st century, Reality TV promised to take us 'behind the scenes' of that world. In 2005, YouTube cracked the paradigm and let the audience bring their world to each other.
So what's next? How will we bring viewers into a world they've never seen, in a way they've never seen it? By going
Random.
Transparent, live 24/7
Random TV (RTV) is a camera that never stops rolling - a live interactive reality news show. Nomadic teams will travel around the country capturing life’s most random and unpredictable events…from headline worthy news to the smallest slice of life.
Teams will broadcast a continuous live video stream on the internet utilizing new cellular technology. RTV is news and entertainment, freed from the cumbersome satellite truck, You Tube…unhooked from the bedroom webcam.
RTV will have teams of three people working around the clock in locations around America--major cities, small farm towns - anywhere. Teams are launched with a random goal. Ideas gleaned from breaking news, viewer email or any random event that catches the public's attention. Teams work eight hour shifts, recording everything in their path.
Honest and Totally Interactive.
Keeping an open channel on the web enables RTV to be intimate, dependable and trustworthy. Life is full of random unpredictable events. Only Random TV can embrace what we can not control, providing an innovative window to see what is usually hidden.
RTV will capitalize on emerging mobile technologies by interacting LIVE with text messages, video posts and email from “web viewers” or “cell phone participants.” The audience will influence teams with information and direction.
RTV can be celebrity hunting at nightclubs in LA or learning to dance with a hip hop group in New York, driving the entire west coast in search of the perfect beach or in the basement of a high school rock band in Seattle.
THE RANDOM EYE – In the future everyone will be famous
Over the course of the week, as teams meet interesting people, RTV will shoot several “Random Eye” bios. Each “Random Eye” video is a first person, one minute long slice of life. The Random Eye feature on the web site is where celebrities and non celebrities can co exist, as equals, for eternity.
